A 35-year-old and a 14-year-old from Romania were found guilty of a robbery on Thursday. The youth was sentenced to twelve months imprisonment, four of which were unconditionally imposed. The adult got three years without parole.
According to the indictment, the duo is said to have accompanied a heavily intoxicated 29-year-old from Linz to his apartment in January this year and attacked him there with brass knuckles and an iron chain. His smartphone and wallet were stolen. There were no confessions.
The 35-year-old claimed that he only wrapped the chain around his hand, the 14-year-old did not want to have been in the apartment at all at the time of the crime. The verdicts are not final because the public prosecutor’s office can still appeal.
Officially known as a taxi robber
Incidentally, the 14-year-old Romanian has been known to the police for a long time. He is one of those young people who are said to have attacked two taxi drivers in Linz a few months ago.
At that time, however, the boy was only 13 years old and therefore not yet of criminal age, which is why these acts had no legal consequences for the young person. The now 14-year-old also admitted that he knew at the time that nothing could happen to him because of his age.
