The woman from Schallerbach, who was in the second year of her apprenticeship at Oberndorfer Wirt in Schmiding, was able to assert herself against 19 competitors from seven vocational schools. On April 19th and 20th, the new state champion will fight for the title of state champion at the national competition in Leoben, Styria.
The decisive criteria when tapping beer are hygiene, speed, foam height, consistency and general appearance. In three minutes, the participants had to tap three pints of beer. The expert jury evaluates the most successful beer glass. “If a glass goes over, you’ve already lost,” explains the new tap master.
