A Christian symbol in public buildings such as schools or hospitals – the majority of Austrians now spoke out in favor of this. This was the result of a recent survey by the opinion research institute Unique research, in which 1023 people aged 16 and over were interviewed.

In another survey, a large majority of respondents voted for Easter celebrations in schools. For most, these are part of the Austrian tradition. Despite the clear popularity, two-thirds of the population expect that the Easter and Saint Nicholas celebrations in kindergartens and schools will be lost in the long term out of consideration for people of other faiths.
