The French navy destroyed on Wednesday 4.74 tons of cocaine seized aboard a cargo ship “off the African coast,” authorities announced Friday. On the streets, it would be worth close to $170 million.

The seizure occurred “north of the equator” in international waters on a cargo ship flagged by Saint Kitts and Nevis, with the agreement of the Caribbean country, the Atlantic Maritime Prefecture said in a statement.
