Thomas Binder, the third president of the state parliament and health spokesman for the Upper Austrian SP, is now responding to this criticism.
He calls for the creation of a drug storage facility in Upper Austria. Austria is lagging behind on this topic. The state should therefore develop a strategy for a drug storage facility together with the pharmacies, and Upper Austria should play a pioneering role in the federal government.
Such a warehouse could prevent shortages of medicines in the future, as recently with antibiotics for children, says Binder: “If necessary, our pharmacists can produce medicines themselves. We just have to provide them with the ingredients in good time.”
