Legislators from the traditional party asked the Executive Branch to explain the modifications, after agreeing with the Cabildo Abierto.
The Special Commission of deputies for the treatment of the social security reform, approved an intermediate room until Thursday, April 13 at the request of legislators from the Citizens sector, from the Colorado party (pc). Lacalle Pou, had communicated to his political partners that he was going to agree to change the retirement calculation to an average of 20 years of work, instead of the 25 that were written in the bill. Based on the explanations given by the Executive Branch, the Citizens deputies will evaluate the modifications with their bench, and then with the entire PC.
Today, the deputies of the PC held a meeting with the Director of Finance of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Ferdinand Whitethe director of the Office of Planning and Budget (OPP), Isaac Alfieand the editor of the project, Rodolfo Saldaín.
The modification of the retirement calculation will increase spending by 0.3%
For his part, Saldain explained that the modification of the calculation will impact an increase in spending of 0.3%. Likewise, he declared before the press that this spending would go above all “to sectors with greater wage mobility”, which are included within the five lowest deciles. However, he acknowledged that the modification of CA improves the monthly salary in the medium and high sectors.
The red deputy Jorge Alvearheld at a press conference that this is “an extremely important reform for the future of the country, more than that of the government”, for which “the PC always put the country ahead” with “the idea is to move forward with the social security reform and ultimately be able to reach a successful conclusion”.
