A 23-year-old from Linz was driving his car on Monday evening at around 9:55 p.m. together with a 19-year-old from the Linz-Land district on the B3 in the Mauthausen municipality. In a construction site area there, the man drove against the signs (no entry) in the direction of Linz.
He crashed his car into a shaft about two meters deep. The two occupants of the car were able to get out of the car on their own. Other road users came to the rescue and made the emergency call. The two were injured to an undetermined degree and after first aid were taken to the accident hospital in Linz. The totally damaged car was lifted out of the Künette with a crane.
