According to the Numbeo index, the monthly costs for a family of four members, without having to pay rent, is $2,923.30, that is, 113,250.10 Uruguayan pesos. On the other hand, the estimated expenses for a single person are from $822.60a total of 31,865.70 pesos.

In Argentina, for its part, the estimated cost of living for a family of four is $1,530.60 without rentwhile for a single person they are of $434.10. Compared to the neighboring country, income in Uruguay is 127.6% higher, while the cost of living is 93.3% higher.

The distribution of expenses of Uruguayans, according to Numbeo, is divided, first of all, into a 31.7% in markets. Taking all this into account, Montevideo is a 38% cheaper than New York City, but it is the most expensive in Latin America with a value of 40.1. In second place is Santiago de Chile with an index of 34.3, in third place, the Brazilian city of Sao Pablo with 30.3. These are followed by the city of Guyana, Georgetown, with 29 and Caracas with an index of 28.1. Buenos Aires, for its part, is ranked 24th in the region with an index of 21.3 points.
