Montevideo recovered the direct connection with Buenos Aires with Aerolíneas Argentinas flights

Aerolíneas Argentinas restored air connectivity between Carrasco International Airportin Montevideoand that of Ezeizaa few kilometers from Buenos Aireswhich will allow Uruguayan travelers to make stops without changing terminals to destinations such as New York, Rome, Cancun, Punta Cana and Havana.

The Carrasco International Airport, in Montevideo, will once again have a direct route that connects Buenos Aires, which will not only facilitate travel to Argentina and vice versa, but will also favor a connection with other international destinations without having to leave the terminal.

The direct flights offered by Aerolíneas Argentinas had been suspended three years ago, within the framework of the restrictive measures by the covid-19 pandemic.

The flights began on Monday and have a frequency of three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. The times to Buenos Aires are at 7:30 p.m., while those to Montevideo have a departure time at 6:10 a.m.

Matthias Carlucciocommercial manager of Uruguay Airports, had stated when announcing the air reconnection, that “the return of this route is a great opportunity because it increases Uruguay’s connectivity, not only with Argentina, but also with the rest of the world.”

For his part, the regional manager for Uruguay and Paraguay of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Gaston de Chazalstated that this new operation “is designed to respond to the needs and demands of customers and to reinforce the connection lines between the two countries.”
