Daniel Glattauer reads from a new book in Sierning

Bestselling author Daniel Glattauer with new book “You don’t feel it”

The Binders and the Strobl-Marineks treat themselves to an exclusive holiday in Tuscany. Daughter Sophie Luise, 14, was allowed to take her school friend Aayana, a refugee child from Somalia, with her to keep her from getting bored. No sooner have you gotten into the holiday mood with Prosecco and antipasti than disaster strikes. What is a human life worth? And each the same amount?

Daniel Glattauer packs big questions into his new novel, which you can’t put down and in which he shows off all his skills: exciting scenes, strong dialogues, wit. In doing so, Glattauer draws a moral picture of our privileged society, exposes its double standards and lends his voice to those who rarely get a chance to speak.

On Friday, April 14, the author signed on the literature ship. He reads in cooperation with the Sierning Library at 7:30 p.m. in the Focus parish home. More details and other Literaturschiff dates on the website: www.literaturschiff.at
