In the pouring rain in the Innviertel, Maximilian Senft’s team won the first point on Friday with a 1-1 (1-1) win over WSG Tirol in the third round of the qualifying group. However, Rieder are still bottom of the table with ten points, while Thomas Silberberger’s Tyroleans missed the leap to the top of the qualifying group.

Tim Prica gave WSG the lead (28′), Tin Plavotic headed Rieder’s head just before half-time after a corner kick to equalize (43′). The WSG failed in Upper Austria because of their own chances and is now one point behind promoted Austria Lustenau, who will host the WAC on Saturday. At the bottom of the table, Rieder are temporarily one point behind Altach, while Vorarlberg are still visiting Hartberg. The Rieder remained without a win in the seventh game in a row in front of their home crowd.
Rieder started aggressively and actively
Rieder started aggressively and actively in front of 3,250 spectators, after ten minutes striker Belmin Beganovic had the first good chance. However, 18-year-old Rieder failed with his low shot at WSG goalie Benjamin Ozegovic, who replaced the ailing Ferdinand Oswald, as he did in the 4-0 win over WAC the previous week. In an initially balanced game, the Silberberger team also found chances. First Julius Ertlthaler failed from a promising position reed-Goalie Samuel Sahin-Radlinger (18th), who extended his contract in the Innviertel by three years.
A little later, however, the guests from Tyrol cheered. After a deflected shot, Thomas Sabitzer won the running duel against Matthias Gragger, the attacker lobbed the ball past Sahin-Radlinger and Prica only had to push the ball over the line. The Rieder seemed a little unsettled as a result, but the weakest offensive in the league managed to equalize before the break. Plavotic prevailed in the center of a corner kick, and the central defender headed in for his third goal of the season. For the Innviertler it was the ninth goal this season after a standard situation, of a total of 18 goals.

After the change of sides, the Silberberger team vehemently pushed for the lead again. The Tyroleans combined well and showed playfulness on the offensive. The first best chance was missed by Valentino Müller with a header after a Sulzbacher free-kick (54th). Rieder didn’t come into their own at all and were lucky when Sahin-Radlinger kept his team in play with a strong reflex after a Ranacher shot was deflected (65′). Senft reacted with an offensive triple change, and the game flattened out noticeably as a result.
Turbulent final phase
In the final phase, however, it burned on both sides. First, WSG “Joker” Justin Forst hesitated too long alone in front of Sahin-Radlinger, a few seconds later he stopped reed-Goalie again fixed the draw against Zan Rogelj (87th). In return, Leo Mikic had the lead with Rieder’s first chance in the second round. Shortly thereafter, a Rogelj shot hissed a few centimeters above that reedgoal (90th).
