The Austrian window manufacturer “Rekord Fenster” is building its tenth production site out of the ground. The ground-breaking ceremony for the site in Lasberg took place on Friday. The production of plastic and plastic-aluminium windows, lift and slide doors and side entrance doors is scheduled to start as early as late autumn 2023. The area between Tulln and Wels will then be supplied with high-quality windows “made in Mühlviertel” from the new location in the Mühlviertel.
The decision in favor of Lasberg was a conscious one, says managing director Hannes Aigner of Rekord Lasberg GmbH: “We want to bring the work to the people, not the other way around. We are creating jobs here in the region so that people no longer have to commute.” In addition, people know about the positive work attitude of the Mühlviertler people: “Here people can lend a hand, we can already see that on the construction site.” At the start of production, 25 employees will be employed and employees in Lasberg. In the medium term, the aim is to create 40 to 50 jobs, and if the economy develops well, more than 50 people could be offered jobs, says Aigner. Not only a modern workplace awaits the future employees, but also numerous amenities: In addition to their own canteen and social rooms, a lounge area with fitness equipment will be set up directly on site.
When placing orders, Rekord Fenster relies on cooperation with companies from the region. The Holzhaider group of companies was awarded the contract as general contractor. The building technology with ventilation, heating and water will be implemented with the company Hofer, a company of the Wimberger Group, which is also based in the immediate vicinity of the new record location. A great deal of attention is also paid to sustainability, according to Aigner: “We will set up a photovoltaic system with an output of 250 kWp on the roof of our halls. In addition, thanks to modern EDP systems, production will be completely paperless.”
