Outbound tourism to the Argentina grew ostensibly this past summer. According to data from the Argentine entity, 174,000 people entered through land route –64% more than in 2019–, while 75,000 did so for waterway –a 7% increase compared to the pre-pandemic–.
A large part of those who entered the neighboring country by land were, meanwhile, buyers of Fray Bentos, Paysandú and Salto who took advantage of the exchange difference to acquire cheaper Argentine products and services.
After the success of the Tourism Week, operators point to long weekends
To these numbers for the first semester are added those of the Tourism Week, where, although more than 351,260 people entered the country, others 364,284 Uruguayans they left the borders, according to the National Directorate of Migration.
