In the early post-war period, the panel wagons were designed in the VW factory for internal transport tasks. The commercial vehicle probably also provided impetus for the T1, the first VW bus. The Plattenwagen was built in 1946 from parts of the Type 82 (“Kübelwagen”) and the Type 1 Beetle. The small commercial vehicle is powered by a 1.1-liter petrol engine with 25 hp from 1944. Other details: rear-wheel drive, front-wheel steering, four-speed manual transmission.
