His curiosity has put “Henry” in an awkward position – and his mistress too: the mixed breed was on Sunday afternoon with his 32-year-old owner in the Glasenbachklamm near Elsbethen in Flachgau. The four-legged friend wanted to switch to the opposite side at a narrow point in the upper area of the gorge and may have fallen into the ice-cold water of the Klausbach, said the Salzburg mountain rescue service. He drifted a bit but managed to climb over the boulders to the shore.

When the 32-year-old wanted to help her dog, she climbed between the slippery rocks and the raging stream. Arriving on the other bank, the young woman dared neither forward nor backward and made an emergency call around 1:30 p.m. 20 mountain rescue and water rescue teams responded. They secured the dog and mistress in the rough terrain with a rope and brought them to safety across the water. The duo survived the incident unharmed. After about two hours, the emergency services were able to move back in, according to the Salzburg water rescue service.
