Silvio Berlusconi left intensive care after twelve days in critical condition

He Silvio Berlusconi, former Italian Prime Minister 86 years old, left this Sunday the intensive care unit of the Milan hospital in which he has been hospitalized for twelve days to treat a chronic leukemia which gave him a lung infection.

“Silvio Berlusconi’s departure from intensive care is great news, we are very happy about it. Come on Silvio, see you soon in Parliament,” one of the center-right politician’s associates, Maurizio Lupi, said on social media today.

Minutes before, one of the sons of the four-time prime minister, Paolo, had replied that “yes” his father had been transferred, when asked at the entrance of the San Rafael hospital by the press.

The transfer, scheduled for this Sunday, is possible due to the “constant improvement” of his clinical picture about which Professor Alberto Zangrillo and the head doctor Fabio Ciceri had talked about in their last bulletin.

In the latest official information from the hospital, released on April 13, the doctors reported that Berlusconi is reacting well and “constantly” and also revealed kidney problems.

Berlusconi is treated with chemotherapy due to chronic leukemia that led to a lung infection, according to the medical reports distributed since his admission to the health center.

The health of the leader Forza Italy (conservative), who was three times prime minister of Italy and currently serves as a senator, has worsened in recent years. Last month, he was admitted for four days in the same hospital.
