Contagions are growing in Bolivia, which is already thinking of a fourth wave of Covid-19

The South American nation reported an average of 256.4 daily cases during the last week of September, a figure that amounted to 352.4 cases the first week of October, 365.7 the second, 390.3 the third and 466.4 the fourth, according to official data.

“Given the increase in cases that is taking place and that a fourth wave announces us, we are summoning all the governors [regionales] and to departmental health services throughout the country “to hold” an important meeting, “Health Minister Jeyson Auza said at a press conference.

At this meeting, “an evaluation of the pandemic” will be made, financial resources will be provided and “the guidelines that we will apply in this new stage of the pandemic will be defined,” he explained.

Bolivia registered a first wave between July and August 2020, a second between December of last year and January 2021 and a third between last May and June.
