The US confirmed which vaccines it will require from travelers

The White House confirmed that children under the age of 18 are exempt from the new vaccination requirementsas well as people with some medical problems. They will have to undergo tests three days before the trip – if they are accompanied by a vaccinated adult – or a day before – if they fly alone or with unvaccinated adults, the White House stressed in a statement.

The Non-tourist travelers from some 50 countries with vaccination rates below 10% may also be exempted from the rules. People who receive an exemption will have to get vaccinated if they intend to stay in the United States for more than 60 days.

They will also be exempt from the vaccination requirement “some participants in clinical trials of Covid-19 vaccines, and those who need to travel for emergency or humanitarian reasons”, as long as they carry with them “a letter issued by the United States Government” that proves that need.

Still they have not clarified the rules for the entry of non-essential travelers to the United States by land from the borders with Mexico and Canada, which will also resume on November 8. But the exceptions are expected to be “similar” to those established for air traffic.

  • Janssen (the Johnson & Johnson)
  • Two versions of the AstraZeneca serum
  • Sinopharm
  • Sinovac

Combinations that include Sputnik (for example, with Moderna or others) for now they will not be able to enter. Travelers immunized with a combination of these vaccines will also be allowed to enter.
