On the way home from elementary school, six children from the Mühlviertel were very lucky. They were unharmed in a school bus accident in Kaltenberg (Freistadt district). The collision with a car had worse consequences for the 58-year-old bus driver. Like the 29-year-old driver, she was taken to the Freistadt Clinic.
The accident happened around 11:50 a.m. on the north ridge Landesstraße. The 29-year-old drove by car towards Weitersfelden. The school bus was traveling from Kaltenberg towards Tischberg. According to the police, the 59-year-old driver may have overlooked the car coming from the right. The collision resulted in both vehicles being totaled. The rescue helicopter and an ambulance from Liebenau transported the injured to the hospital.
