The union established that, with this basic measure, as of Tuesday they will decide how the strike will be extended throughout the rest of the country, which can be total or partial, since the cessation of activities will begin in the plant number 8 in Ciudad Rodríguez in the department of San José.

“Most likely we are solving measures at the national level, in all Conaprole plants, and the problem will worsen. We are going to arrive on Thursday, most likely, with the plants stopped or partially, but yes, we are going to be making stoppage decisions,” explained the union leader, Mark Barbozaon Channel 10.
The strike at the plant is already affecting the reception of producers in the area, as well as the packaging of powdered milk, long life and cheese. Faced with this, from Conaprole they announced that the production and supply of milk and its derivatives.
The conflict arose last week when the board of directors decided to introduce changes in production that were going to be consulted with the union. The company acquired a new milk bottling machine that packs 15,000 liters per hour, compared to two machines that pack 6,000 liters per hour and two shifts are needed to finish the job.
According to Barboza, these changes will make it dispense between 10 and 15 workers, something that from the union is considered as an “indirect dismissal”. From the union they will also have a meeting with the Ministry of Labor waiting to be able to negotiate and maintain the shifts and employees that the company had.
