The average price of the contracts rentals at the national level is 18,280 pesos, which implied a monthly increase of 0.49% in February, which represents an accumulated variation of 6.09% for the last 12 months, according to the latest report from Real Estate Activity Indicators (IAI) prepared by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Meanwhile, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) February registered a monthly variation of 1.00%, accumulated in the year 2.57% and in the last 12 months of 7.55%.
In turn, 84,462 contracts were registered —a monthly variation of -0.33%—, which means an interannual increase of 0.87%.
77.4% of the rental contracts in force in February belonged to the city of Montevideo11.6% are from cannellonifollowed by Saint Joseph, maldonado, paysandu and Cologne with approximately 1.5% of the contracts, reported the INE.
In Montevideo, 65,408 rental contracts were registered last February, which represents a year-on-year variation of 1.08% in relation to February 2022. The average rental price in the capital is 18,956 pesos.
