Macron, persecuted by protesters due to the reform

Last Saturday, the French Constitutional Council validated a few hours before the delay of the retirement age of 62 to 64 years by 2030 and the advancement to 2027 of the contribution requirement 43 yearsand not 42, to collect a full pension.

“We decided to promulgate the Law less than 24 hours after the decision of the Constitutional Council as is the case for all economic laws and the same will enter into force in september next. We ask the French to make an effort and accept this reform,” the minister of Job, Olivier Dussopt.

Between boos and posters, Macron showed his discontent and said that “pans will not help France to get ahead”. Muttersholtz’s presence at a factory was his first public foray outside the capital since he enacted an unpopular law raising the retirement age, meaning citizens must work two more years before receiving their state pension.
