Equestrian athletes from 13 nations took part in the three-week spring series at RC Hofinger in Braunau-Ranshofen: 182 competitions were held in parallel on four riding arenas, and the starting bell rang 5,724 times. The tournaments in Ranshofen have gained a good international reputation. The organizer is Josef Hofinger, he and his team ensure that everything runs smoothly.
The effort is great: In the end it was necessary to provide 450 guest boxes for the show horses and to keep the four arenas in optimal condition. The latter was a special challenge at the weekend’s finale in persistent rain. While elsewhere in such cases one has to switch to a hall or be canceled at all with regard to the riding surfaces, the tournament could be held as planned.
“Unfortunately it rained continuously from Thursday to Saturday. Nevertheless, we were able to offer the riders very good conditions. All competitions could be held without any problems,” says organizer Josef Hofinger. The RC Ranshofen equestrian athletes got really involved in the international tournament. “Landlady” Lisa Hofinger, who had already completed a few clear rounds on the previous weekends, was able to celebrate a 17th place with CC Coralie in the standard jumping test over 125 cm.
Tobias Skiba-Hofinger achieved another top placing for the RC Hofinger, he remained clear with Corny de Luxe in the young horse show jumping test over 105 cm and took first place. Anika Hammerer did the same with Cattoo’s Blitz HS in the warm-up jumping test over 80 cm. Ellen Hayd rode with Elton in sixth place in the standard jumping test over 115 cm, Nora Punz and Rositten placed tenth in the final jumping test over 105 cm.
The RC Hofinger team also had reason to celebrate in the dressage arena. Katharina Floth took seventh place with her Liza Minelli in the Prix St. Georges. The next tournaments in Ranshofen are scheduled for early summer.
