The opposition believes that this law puts the safety of children at risk since the bill allows the father or mother to access to see their child despite having a complaint. From the ruling party, they establish that, if the parent has a complaint, the son or daughter will be given a lawyer who can ensure their safety.
For her part, the deputy for the National Party, Alexandra Inzaurralde, He remarked that before this project, when the parents separated, legal custody of the child was held almost automatically by the mother and this law changes that paradigm. According to the legislator, this law “will ensure the best interests of the child”, when defining the legal custody of the minor.
This project is one of the “bargaining coins” that Cabildo Abierto had for its positive vote on the social security reform.
