The 34-year-old from Ukraine stole cleaning and toilet articles from a supermarket in Gmunden and was observed by employees. The employees tried to stop the man from leaving the store but failed. The thief pushed the two aside and fled.
The police caught him about 15 minutes later not far from the scene of the crime. When questioned, the accused refused to testify. He was taken to Wels Prison on suspicion of robbery by order of the Wels public prosecutor’s office, the police said on Thursday.
