The idea of the Long Night of Libraries was born last year. The goal at the time was for 50 libraries to take part in the campaign. There are now more than 90. The successful premiere continues today, Friday: more than 100 libraries across the country extend the reading time. There are also numerous libraries from the region.
District of Eferding:
- At 7:30 p.m., Roland Schwarz will read from his new novel “On the container ship with Moby Dick: How books change our lives” in the Eferding public library.
- The night of games and films begins at 7 p.m. at the book and games meeting point in the parish of Eferding, and the Eberhof film night starts at 10 p.m. with semolina dumplings and Kaiserschmarrn (Kirchenplatz 2).
- A games evening begins at 5 p.m. in the Prambachkirchner library under the motto “We don’t have game overs”.
District Grieskirchen:
- In the Bad Schallerbach library, a Kamishibai theater, creative stations, games and a book puzzle are on the program for children from 4 p.m. From 7 p.m. there will be an escape room game and a sketch workshop for young people and adults.
- In the community and school library in Geboltskirchen, “guessing a cheerful book” and “Late reading with Leila” begins at 4 p.m. Quotations or passages from books have to be guessed, and a teacher reads short stories.
- The program starts at 7 p.m. in the Gaspoltshofen parish library with scary stories, games and a presentation of new books.
- In the library in Haag am Hausruck you can browse and experiment from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and you can win e-books.
- “With fairy tales into dreamland” is the motto in the St. Agatha community library (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.).
- The program begins at 4 p.m. in the library in Wallern. Children can look forward to a Kamishibai performance. A police officer and a Jiu-Jitsu instructor read to children. In the evenings, personalities from Wallern present. There is also a culinary offer.
Wels-Land district:
- In the Buchkirchen library, which moved to much larger premises last year, you can get an idea of the rich media offering from 6 p.m. At 7.30 p.m. Buchkirchners read in the parish center.
- Legends from the Traunviertel region and the Salzkammergut are on the program in Eberstalzell from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Reading time for children begins at 4.30 p.m. in the Lambach parish library. At 7 p.m., dietician Maria Kiener will provide information on “intestinal health”.
- The former Wels town clerk Marlen Schachinger will read from “Recognition comes in the blue hour” in the Meritas bookstore in Lambach at 3 p.m.
- The Offenhausen library organized a fairy tale hike at 2 p.m., and the library has a program from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with board game stations and a book flea market.
- “Reading adventures from the kingdom of dragons” are offered in the library in Sattledt from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
