“Confronting anti-Semitism is always disgusting, as is the case. However, if the aim of the racists was to diminish the commemoration of the Holocaust, I consider that they have failed. Erasing the Stars of David that identify Jews as specifically targeted by the Nazis only confirms this fact.”wrote the artist on his Instagram account.
The drawing, called “Platform 21, The Simpsons deported to Auschwitz”was painted on the facade of the Memorial built next to the train station from where the Jews and other Italian victims of the Holocaust were deported to extermination camps in Europa, such as Auschwitz in Poland. The President of the Memorial, Roberto Jarach, announced that the recordings of the security cameras will be reviewed to find the author of these facts and they asked the artist to restore the work and to enlarge it.
