VW sets sail with a new flagship: the ID.7. Parallels to combustion models are logically obvious. Is it the electric Passat or the slightly more elegant Arteon? One might almost tend towards the second, because the design of the ID.7 is a tongue-clicker. Outside and especially inside.
The second world car
The new electrician is the second world car after the ID.4. This means that the car – in contrast to the ID.3 – will be offered worldwide. The 7 Series is designed as a touring sedan that can travel up to 700 kilometers on one charge. At least with the 86 kWh battery (net). With the smaller memory, which takes up 77 kWh (net), the 4.96 meter huge ID.7 manages 615 kilometers.

The aerodynamic design also makes this range possible. The front end is largely closed, the underbody is almost flat, and the hatchback is extremely streamlined. The bottom line is that these subtleties result in a drag coefficient of 0.23. world class!
Drastic reduction
Inside, straight lines dominate, the interior looks classy. The classic instruments have been reduced to the essentials in the ID.7. Instead, the augmented reality head-up display takes over the information sovereignty and projects details such as speed in the immediate area in front of the driver and interactive information such as turning arrows virtually in the real world far in front of the ID.7. In the middle, VW places a gigantic 15-inch touchscreen – like Tesla or Mercedes. The graphics and the menu navigation have been redesigned.

Assistance systems such as “Travel Assist” accept swarm data and actively help when overtaking and parking.
The optional panoramic roof (“Smart Glass”) becomes opaque at the touch of a button.
The ID.7 is manufactured at the VW plant in Emden and will come to Austria in October. Orders start in July.

VW offers two battery sizes: The ID.7 Pro has a 77 kWh battery (net). Charging power: 170 kW. In the Pro S, which will be launched later, an 86 kWh battery will be installed, which can absorb 200 kW. Ranges: 616 or 700 kilometers.
