The first point to consider is transportation. For a short trip or, even, with a round trip on the same day, the most chosen options are your own car or the catamaran through the Silver river.

In case you choose to go by water, one of the alternatives is the Buquebus. This company offers tickets for these dates that depart, one way —in the morning— from 3,995 pesos on the fast ship. If the return trip is on the same day, the return ticket can be obtained from 2,379 pesos; For another date, the price starts from 4,012 pesos.

However, if the option of traveling by own carthere are two main costs to consider: fuel and tolls. With these values, filling a tank in Uruguay costs between 3,235.05 and 4,672.85 pesos in the case of the super 95 naphtha —considering that the capacity of most current tanks is between 45 and 65 liters—; and between 2,564.55 and 3,704.35 if using diesel 50S.

In case of filling the tank in the border zone, it is necessary to remember the existence of a 30% discount in the Internal Specific Tax (Imesi) both for gasoline and diesel.

If, on the other hand, you need to refuel in Argentina, these are the current prices in Uruguayan pesos at service stations in the neighboring country.

  • Super gasoline: 31.70 pesos
  • Premium gasoline: 40.65 pesos
  • Common diesel: 34.07 pesos
  • Premium diesel: 48.68 pesos

Regarding tolls, since last Monday 10, the rate for motorcycles and the like in the two International Bridges that join the borders of Argentina and Uruguay costs 100 pesos; while cars and trucks must pay 450 pesos.
