A shake of the head triggers the arrest of an elderly Viennese woman. Almost four weeks ago there was an incident in the apartment of the 93-year-old. The woman had once again failed to recognize her nurse, apparently mistaking her for a burglar.

The 24-hour help is said to have just prepared dinner when the woman attacked her with a kitchen knife. The nurse was able to fend off a stab to the head with a cutting board. When the attacked screamed for help, the old woman dropped the knife.

Woman taken to home after two weeks

As the ORF now reports, the 93-year-old is said to have been taken to prison afterwards. Apparently the authorities didn’t know what to do with her. Attorney Michael Dohr told ORF that the woman had been accommodated with two female prisoners. “She had panic attacks like she saw the police because she didn’t even know where she was,” Dohr is quoted as saying in the report. The woman from Vienna is said to have spent two weeks behind bars before she was taken to a nursing home.
