Inflation makes people despair

This year there were already 417 contacts in the first quarter. In the same period last year, it was half. A total of 465 adults and 379 affected children were supported by the social counselors in Steyr last year. Therefore, volunteers from the parishes will again be asking for donations from the Caritas house collection in Steyr and Steyr-Land over the next few weeks. “In the first quarter of this year alone, 189 people from the Steyr catchment area have already registered because they no longer know how to pay their energy bills,” says Caritas employee Ursula Bichler.
