The 32-year-old Duke of Westminster proposed to his girlfriend Olivia Henson at the family estate, Eaton Hall, the Times reported. “Members of both families are absolutely thrilled with the news,” the newspaper quoted a statement as saying. Grosvenor himself is a godson of George’s grandfather King Charles (74).
His family has an estimated fortune of just under £10 billion (€11.3 billion), which Grosvenor inherited in 2016 after the death of his father, who died suddenly at 64 of complications from a heart attack. The Duke of Westminster does have two older sisters. But they went away empty-handed because primogeniture applies in the family – the entire inheritance goes to the eldest son.
Richer than rich
Hugh Grosvenor is both Chairman of Grosvenor and Chairman of the Westminster Foundation. Miss Henson works for Belazu, a food company based in London, it is said. Despite his possibilities, the groom is not said to have an extravagant lifestyle. Excesses and escapades are only known from his 21st birthday. The party for 800 invited guests is said to have cost an unbelievable six million euros and blew up every frame. Among other things, the Grosvenor Group owns around 300 hectares of land in the exclusive London boroughs of Mayfair and Belgravia, which the ancestor Thomas Grosvenor received in 1677 as part of a dowry.
