The pensioner was driving his tractor on his property in the municipality of Neumarkt im Mühlkreis (Freistadt district) when the accident happened around eleven o’clock. On a sloping meadow, the tractor rolled down the slope with the half-full liquid manure tank and came to rest in a stream. The exact circumstances of the accident were initially unclear. The injured farmer was able to free himself from the tractor, he was treated by the rescue workers and taken to a hospital. The police said on Wednesday afternoon that there was considerable damage to the tractor and the slurry tanker.
