In his opening speech, Orbán emphasized that Hungary is an “incubator” in which the conservative politics of the future are being tested. Orbán also spoke out against the “progressive foreign policy” that leads to war and chaos. The prime minister called on Donald Trump to return to the US presidency as a guarantee of an end to the war in Ukraine. Trump should “make America great and bring us peace”.
Orbán criticized the “liberal accusations” against Hungary and referred to upcoming “battles” with Brussels. The Brussels “quagmire” must be drained. Orbán ended his speech with the words “no migration, no gender, no war”.
Also represented in Budapest are the head of the liberal delegation in the European Parliament, Harald Vilimsky, the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Eduardo Bolsonaro, the son of the former Brazilian President, the Czech ex-Prime Minister Andrei Babis and the Slovenian former Prime Minister Janez Jansa, who Orbán in referred to in his speech as a “defender of the free world”.
