“Europe is not threatened now by interruptions in the supply chain of agricultural products, on the contrary, we have a problem of surpluses. We are solving a problem of increasing imports of agricultural products from Ukraine,” Sados said, according to PAP.
The European Commission earlier this week placed restrictions until June 5 on imports of Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds to alleviate oversupply of these products in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
Since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine last year, the EU has adopted 10 sanctions packages against Russian individuals and companies.
