The police confirmed two injured in the afternoon, the rescue operation is ongoing. The shooter is said to be still in a house, but the situation is calm, the investigators said. According to media reports, the background is likely to be a long-standing dispute between neighbors.

A witness had called the police around noon after the shots were fired. It was initially unclear whether the suspect is a neighbor of the women and whether he is still alive. The police suspect that he is still in the block of flats. This was therefore secured from the outside so that no one can go in anymore. In addition, the staff of a nearby school were instructed not to let the children go outside for the time being as a precaution. “The situation on site is currently calm,” said police spokesman Heimo Kohlbacher. Officers from the Cobra special unit, the Rapid Reaction Forces (SRK) and the South Negotiation Group were called to action.

According to Kohlbacher, there were already many onlookers in front of the apartment building in the early afternoon. The police asked them to return to their living quarters.
