Keep dogs on a leash, keep your distance from grazing animals, do not throw away rubbish, only use marked hiking and biking trails and only park where permitted. With clear signs in the five municipalities of the Attersee-Traunsee Nature Park, hikers and bikers are reminded this spring that they are in a beautiful but also sensitive landscape and should therefore follow the rules. The measure was initiated under the title “Respectful togetherness” by nature park manager Clemens Schnaitl and Manfred Spitzbart, caretaker of the Friends of Nature Upper Austria.
The nature park management has created a round table at which property owners, alpine farmers, hunters, recreational athletes and other interested parties develop measures for conflict-free coexistence in the nature park. This also includes cooperation with elementary schools. The children are given special plastic bags with which they can take the rubbish down into the valley on excursions.
