Forget-me-nots, lilies of the valley, anemones, buttercups and lilacs are particularly beautiful, according to the recommendations of local florists.
Orchids and scented geraniums are also among the classic Mother’s Day flowers and have broken away from the old-fashioned image. After flowering, the plants could be planted out in a semi-shady spot in the garden and flower there again the following year. Or they are moved outside together with the pot and brought back in autumn to overwinter, according to the experts, who advise flowers from Austrian production. These are not only fresher, but are also characterized by short transport routes and have a better CO2 balance than the competition from abroad, according to a press release from the nurseries.
