The Hofmann Personal Stadium on the Donaulände continues to take shape. Mayor Klaus Luger (SP), Sports Councilor Markus Achleitner (VP), Deputy Mayor Karin Hörzing (SP), FC Blau-Weiss Managing Director Christoph Peschek and other representatives from sports and politics were recently convinced of the construction progress.

Up to 150 workers from Granit Bau work on the construction site every day. Those responsible expect the stadium to be completed in around 150 days, and the opening is to be celebrated in July. It is therefore clear that the women’s and men’s teams from Blau-Weiss can already contest the 2023/24 season in their new place of work.

Space for around 5500 visitors

As reported, the stadium is at a dizzy height – on the roof of the new XXX Lutz furniture warehouse. The new stadium can accommodate around 5500 spectators and meets the UEFA 3 criteria. There will also be restaurants and office space in the stadium complex.

Mayor Luger is convinced that the new building means a corresponding upgrade for FC Blau-Weiss: “Not only football fans and players will feel at home in this complex. It massively upgrades the urban area between the city motorway and the Danube Landing.”

“Symbol for further professionalization”

“The new Donaupark stadium is not just an architectural gem, but also the springboard for the Bundesliga for Blau-Weiss Linz. It’s an opportunity to expand and position yourself even better,” says Wirtschafts- and to hear state sports councilor Achleitner.

Blau-Weiss Linz managing director Christoph Peschek is also very happy: “The new Hofmann personal stadium is of central importance for FC Blau-Weiss Linz. It is an enormously important part of the sustainable growth strategy and a symbol for the further professionalization of the club .”
