The government meets today to think about more measures

Government representatives, including the Secretary of the Presidency, will meet to think about possible solutions to the water crisis that is plaguing the country.

Within the framework of a water crisis that has the entire Uruguayan population in suspense, the government decided to meet with representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Social Development and Public Health to determine possible measures to deal with it, after holding a meeting without any representative of the presidency yesterday, which provoked criticism from the Frente Amplista Yamandu Orsi.

The situation in the Uruguay it is more critical every day and the government is having meetings and providing hasty solutions to a problem that seems to need more structural solutions. The meeting will also be attended by representatives of State organizations related to the conflict such as the National Administration of State Sanitary Works (OSE) and the National Emergency System (Sinae).

Subsequently, they will receive representatives from the Congress of Mayors where they will be present on behalf of the departments affected by the water crisis. Yesterday, a meeting was held between the environment portfolio, and the mayors of Canelones, Yamandu Orsi, the mayor of Montevideo, Caroline Cosse, and that of Lavalleja, mario garciaas well as representatives of OSE, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Social Development to coordinate the National Emergency System.

At the end of the meeting, the mayor of Canelones took the opportunity to claim that no representative of the presidency was present. “One comes to the Presidency and I thought that the President of the Republic was going to be there or, at least, one of his secretaries. It was a meeting in the orbit of the Ministry of Environment. That it is fine, it is worth it, we have worked well with the Ministry, but the President of the Republic knows that he is meeting with the mayors of the National Party and I think that the situation that he had received us today deserves,” Orsi said in a video posted on their social media.
