For at least 18 years, the 57-year-old was extremely active in the drug scene in the central area: the man is said to have grown a total of 100 kilograms of cannabis in a professional indoor breeding facility since 2005 and then distributed it to the people, the state police said on Wednesday.
Assuming a street sales value of 10 euros per gram of cannabis, the Upper Austrian has earned around one million euros over the years with his drug deals. The man, who had been registered as unemployed for years, used the money to finance his livelihood.
arrest in February
The professional gardener was already blown up in January of this year: During a house search at the Trauner’s home address, the rearing facility and 1.9 kilos of cannabis herb were secured. When the investigations revealed the extent of the drug deals, the 57-year-old was arrested in February.
When he was questioned, he refused to make any statement. The man is now in the Linz prison. Surveys of his customers were still ongoing, the executive said on Wednesday.
