The man from the Wels-Land district was drunk (1.44 per mille) and could not show a valid driver’s license, the police said in the evening.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. near the Forstberg intersection. The 37-year-old was traveling from Thalheim in the direction of Fischlham when he collided with the oncoming truck. In it sat a 34-year-old – also from the Wels-Land district – at the wheel. This should have survived the frontal collision without injuries. The 37-year-old driver was taken to the hospital, and he must also expect ads.
