How professional hackers proceed and how companies can prevent this is the topic on May 24 from 7 p.m. at the Braunau Chamber of Commerce, which invites experts. The loss of highly sensitive company data can be life-threatening.
“Meanwhile, not only the large, but also small and medium-sized companies from the Braunau district are affected by cyber attacks. Hacker attacks, data theft and acts of sabotage can affect everyone, from the smallest company to the industrial group. The cases reported are just the tip of the iceberg. The number of unreported cases is a multiple of that,” says Klaus Berer, head of the Braunau Chamber of Commerce.
“Simply investing more money is only of limited use. If the employees are not sensitized, the most expensive security systems will fizzle out uselessly. Data thieves often find it easy to gain access to internal company information by eavesdropping on people,” says Klemens Steidl, chairman of the Braunau Chamber of Commerce .
At the May 24 event entitled “Digitally connected and spied on – are you sure you’re safe?” Experts want to create awareness with practice-oriented information on the subject of cybersecurity and give simple but effective tips against digital threats.
Robert Kolmhofer, Head of the Department of Secure Information Systems at the Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences, and Daniel Hofer from the Johannes Kepler University Linz, who will serve live hacking during the event, will give lectures.
