In this context, there was also a house search at his fraternity, the “Standard” reported on Wednesday. The allegations were made by an acquaintance of Guggenbichler and by former member of the National Council Martha Bißmann. Guggenbichler denies the allegations.

Guggenbichler is incriminated by a woman whom he is said to have taken several times to the premises of the Albia connection. She told the Directorate for State Security and Intelligence Services (DSN) that there were several Nazi memorabilia there, which prompted the house to be searched. Proceedings were initiated against Guggenbichler by the Vienna public prosecutor’s office on suspicion of repeat activity.

“accusations made up”

In addition, another person and unknown perpetrators are being investigated. In addition, Guggenbichler is also accused of the cause by Bißmann, who is a friend of the informant. She also reported to the authorities about objects and images that the prohibition law says should not be allowed to be owned.

Guggenbichler’s lawyer was certain that the investigations would “turn out to be unfounded”. The allegations are fictitious. Guggenbichler himself reported the woman for stalking. However, the investigation was discontinued. According to the public prosecutor’s office, it is not necessary to lift the member of parliament’s immunity because there is no connection to his political activities.

consequences demanded

SPÖ and the Greens are demanding consequences for Guggenbichler if the allegations are confirmed or substantiated. “Should the allegations be confirmed and included in the large collection of right-wing extremist incidents in the FPÖ, there must be urgent consequences,” said SPÖ spokeswoman for culture of remembrance, Sabine Schatz, in a broadcast.

“On the one hand, Guggenbichler must resign immediately if the serious allegations are even partially substantiated,” said the Green youth spokeswoman Barbara Nessler and the Green Viennese councilor Viktoria Spielmann. “On the other hand, the subsidies for the Austrian Pennäler Ring, of which Guggenbichler is chairman, must be checked and stopped as soon as possible.”

Criticism also came from the ÖVP: “The FPÖ is showing its radical face again,” said MP Martin Engelberg. Even if Guggenbichler denies the allegations and the presumption of innocence applies, it is “still striking that such allegations are made almost exclusively against politicians from one party: namely against those of the Kickl-FPÖ.”
