The 73-year-old experienced mountaineer from Bavaria was finally found around 11.30 a.m. in the impassable forest area by locating his cell phone. Any help came too late for the man: According to the mountain rescue service, he may have fallen – probably from a great height.
The 73-year-old was Friday morning Climbed up the Hirlatz via an unmarked hunting trail. Shortly before 2 p.m. he called his wife and said he had lost his bearings and had to turn back. When he still hadn’t come back in the evening, the woman finally called the mountain rescue service.
