The government seeks .600 M in the market with 4 tenders

He Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) They will place domestic public debt titles this week for a total of 14,600 pesos with terms of up to 700 days.

This Monday, at 2:00 p.m., the first title in pesos for 2.9 billion pesos –74.66 million dollars, at today’s value–, with integration that same day and with a term of 35 days. Of that total, 580 million pesos will be non-competitive placements.

On Tuesday there will be another adjudication, also at 2:00 p.m.: a title will be tendered for 2.9 billion pesos, equivalent to about 74.66 million dollars, with integration the day after and with a term of 700 days. Of this total, 580 million pesos are considered non-competitive.

On Wednesday, for its part, the third title will be tendered, with adjudication that same day, and for a value of 2,500 million pesos – about 64.36 million dollars – and with a term of 98 days. Of that total amount, 500 million pesos are considered non-competitive.

Finally, on Thursday a title will be auctioned for 6300 million pesos, equivalent to about 162.2 million dollars – with integration the day after the bidding process and with a maturity period of 364 days. Of this total, 1,260 million pesos will be considered non-competitive placements.

Less than 45% placement in titles

Last week, the BCU placed less than half of the 90-day bills in pesos. Bills in pesos at 90 days were yielding 11.38%, with an offer of 3,960 million pesos and a demand of 1,774 million, the entirety of which was accepted.

The BCU issued bills in national currency, in Indexed Units (IU) and certificates of deposit for 1,774 million pesos and there were no maturities for these papers, so pesos were removed from the circuit for 1,774 million pesos, he highlighted the Electronic Stock Exchange SA (Bevsa).
