The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. near the town of Glasau: In a brief moment of inattention, a 23-year-old car driver got onto the oncoming lane on the L1498 and collided head-on with the car of a 24-year-old from the Rohrbach district.

The woman who caused the accident later told the police that she was distracted by the cat that her passenger (52) had in a box on her lap. All three women were so badly injured in the accident that they had to be taken to the UKH in Linz.

This was not the only traffic accident on Tuesday afternoon in the district of Urfahr: Just over an hour earlier, a 54-year-old woman from Linz had an accident on the B126 in the municipality of Sonnberg im Mühlkreis.
