The man from the city of Salzburg should have had a fatal accident with his e-bike on Monday. He went on a bike ride with friends on Monday and drove back alone. The friends stayed in a hut. They discovered his car, which was still parked in a parking lot, on Tuesday afternoon and alerted the emergency services.
Nine mountain rescuers, police officers and the team from the police helicopter “Libelle Salzburg” searched for the missing person in the Tauglboden area near St. Koloman. The helicopter team discovered the 80-year-old in the so-called “David Trench”. The e-biker may have fallen over a steep embankment in a curve and died. He was rescued by the mountain rescuers from Hallein.
