The indictment accuses the unemployed Austrian of repeatedly abusing and raping his 20-year-old German partner for a year and a half. He is said to have always threatened to torture and torment her. He is said to have taken her mobile phone and locked her in the apartment.
The man’s actions were exposed last December when the woman climbed onto the roof of the apartment building after another escalation of violence, screamed for help and passers-by called the police.
The man faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. The newly scheduled trial date is June 21.
