The National Administrator of Fuels, Alcohols and Portland (Ancap) paid during 2022 an average price of 4,371 pesos per barrel of crude oil, according to the data reported by the company, which seeks to guarantee the process of transparency in the purchase of oil by Uruguay in the global market.

On the same day where the drop in fuels was defined, ancap provided details about the barrels purchased between April of last year, where the unit price paid for the quality purchased was between 3,409 and 5,069 pesos. Thus, the company seeks to avoid controversies that it has already endured in the past.

During the first half of last year, the Uruguayan company purchased four shipments of WTI Midland Crude, buying close to 4 million barrels, for values ​​between 3,955 and 5,069 pesos. Then, in August of that year, he paid for 946,184 barrels of ERHA Crude, at a value of 4,410 pesos.

In September, it purchased 476,362 barrels of Medium Crude, for a value of 3,786 pesos, to later receive between that same month and October another three shipments of more than 2,800 million barrels of WTI Midlandswith prices between 3,449 and 3,781 pesos per unit.

In November, ancap paid a unit value of 3,784 pesos for 946,778 barrels of quo-iboewhile between that month and December it acquired another two shipments for more than 1,851 million barrels of WTI Midlands at values ​​that oscillated between 3,355 and 3,409 pesos.

Ancap’s estimates for the purchase of crude oil during 2023

For this 2023, according to the data estimated by Ancap, the average price paid is 3,516 pesos per barrel received. Between January and February, the company acquired two shipments for almost 1,900 barrels of WTI Midlands at a unit price of 3,096 pesos. That same month, he purchased a shipment of 994,164 barrels of Bonny Light at an estimated price of 3,370 pesos.

Finally, according to official data, between March and April it acquired 1 million barrels of Qua-Iboe Crude, another million WTI Midland Crude and 480,000 of Medium Crude, all at an estimated value of 3,021 pesos.
